LIVE BEFORE YOU LEAVE: 10 DO’S TO MANAGE STRESS

Time for my next blog, its about the new thing in, “Stress”. Perhaps the most overused word of urban living, even misused at times. We all are busy in the mad rat race of success. Blinded by the bling of fortune and fooled by sky high ambition of future, we have forgotten to live our present. We human, have a nature to complicate things ; be it work, health, relationships and ultimately most of us end up with a stressful life, not to mention which is self created. The point is what can be done to make life simple and happy or in better words “ de stress” .The idea of Self Retreat as stress buster is getting quite popular. It stems from Buddhism, the good old Monasteries conduct self retreat camps and they are quite successful. Self retreat simply means withdrawing yourself from social life and spending time with yourself. People usually travel to Monasteries in distant mountains and valley to get in touch with nature and spend time in positivity, either meditating or doing their hobbies like writing, photography, singing, painting and so on ,so that they are away from any disturbing thoughts.

Well I do agree self retreat is not everyones cup of tea, so here I come up with simple things that we can practice to live a stress free happy life. These are self tried and trust me they work, so next time you are stressed out do try them for a week and see the difference, and feel free to share your experience with me.

  1. Do not expect. Most of the frustrations happen due to wrong expectation from wrong people, so stop expecting and just do your duties and move on.
  2. Never compete to compare. A healthy compettion is the one with yourself, never compare with others. Try to be the best version of you
  3. Control  anger; As in  the Bhagwad Gita, "Kama" leads to "krodha" which are "Tama guna" leads to destruction. Often lust and frustrated desires are expressed as anger, practice self control.
  4. Think positive, our mind is fickle just as wind, uncontrollable and unconquerable, but with practice we can choose our thoughts, stop negative thoughts they are like rotten eggs the sooner you get rid off, the better.
  5. Believe in Karma and let it go. Do good and good will come to you. Do no evil even to those who hurt you, because Karma never misses to punch back.
  6. Listen to music and sing aloud. Well ! lest your voice bother your neighbours.
  7. Have a blissful solitude. Sometimes its good to be all alone, just you and your lonliness no phone calls ,texts ,detangle for a few days and feel the difference.
  8. Make a habit of reading good books, religious books have answers to all our questions.
  9. Choose your company wisely, and be with people who bring out the best of you by inspiring and encouraging you, distant yourself from selfish and mean people they spread negativity.
  10. Keep love hate ratio balanced; neither love someone too much whom u cant live without nor hate someone so much that u cant live with. Ultimately, its your mental peace getting disturbed in both cases.

Lets not keep regrets  and live life. Relationships are to be cared for ; memories cherished and  remember happiness is within. Days pass and so does months and a year passes by, many words go unspoken and many prayers unheard, we always wait for the “next time”;  which seldom comes. We wish we had cared a bit more, we wish we had spent some time more, but most of our wish remains and the time flies. As I always say life is beautiful,so lets live life, before life leaves us.
